Big hitting Cormac Sharvin didn’t hold back when he drove the green on the first playoff hole to set-up a two putt birdie to beat Conor O’Rourke and claim his first Irish Professional Championship at Limerick Golf Club.

Sharvin and O’Rourke had an epic duel down the back nine, but both eventually finished on 15-under-par and had to return to the eighteenth tee again to decide the Championship.

Defending champion and current Irish PGA Captain Simon Thornton put up a strong defence of his title and shot a stunning 66 around a blustery Limerick to finish in third place on 12-under-par.
