SEAN DAVID WINS FAST PACED SOUTH OF IRELAND

In an All-Welsh showdown Sean David of Pyle & Kenfig defeated his good friend Tomi Bowen of Welshpool by 1-hole on the 18th to win the Pierse Motor Group South of Ireland Men’s Amateur Open Championship at Lahinch.

In a fast paced final David foung himself three-down after 12-holes, but mounted a late charge to claim the title in front of an appreciative crowd.

“It’s a bit unbelievable to be honest,” said David.

“I never expected that at the start of the week. The calibre of the field, so many great players, and I’ve just been playing my own stuff and plotting my way around the golf course.
