RAHM FINISHES LIV GOLF SEASON WITH INDIVIDUAL & TEAM WINS

Golfer's Companion August 24, 2026 3 min read

Jon Rahm closed his LIV Golf 2026 season with a stunning 7-under par 63 to finish a stroke behind surprise first time winner Michael La Sasso who shot 65 to finish at 18-under-par to claim LIV Golf Indianapolis at The Club at Chatham Hills.

Despite losing the tournament Rahm picked up a rather eye watering $9,236,250 for finishing second ($1,136,250), winning the season-long Individual championship bonus ($6,000,000) and his share of the Legion XIII team title win ($2,100,000), not a bad way to end the LIVGolf 2026 season.

While the world now wonders what is in the future for Rahm and LIVGolf, he has more immediate issues, like a haircut, before he heads to Doonbeg for the Amgen Irish Open.

“I’m looking forward to going home and helping my very pregnant wife with the kids because it’s a 3-v-1 right now. It’s probably a 4-v-1 with the one that’s due in October. Happy to be dad for a few days before I get back for the Irish Open, but mainly looking forward to a haircut tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. because I need one badly.”

Indianapolis has been good for Rahm, having also had a runner-up finish here last year, and he was happy with his day’s work………. “Well, it’s a fantastic round of golf. Been able to go low twice on Sunday when I needed to here. Played just as good as every other day, but today the putts were simply rolling in. It’s been feeling good all week, but made the first few, made the long one on 8 and obviously confidence was at an all-time high. Unfortunately the only one that didn’t go in was the last one, and with my mistake opening the door, Michael made a great up-and-down on 18 to win. He earned it, and as frustrating as it is for me, I’m happy about all the good things I did this week to give myself a chance.”

When asked was it hard to play with all the questions and chatter about the LIV Golf season he replied….”There’s been a lot that’s surrounded all of us for pretty much since we joined. At the end of the day, once we step on the golf course, it’s just golf. Everything else goes away, and we just compete. It hasn’t been any harder or easier than it was.”

The next few weeks will be full of questions for Rahm and some might be answered by the time he gets to Doonbeg.
